Ryan Garcia is set to make his return to the ring against Rolando "Rolly" Romero on Friday, May 2, 2025, in a high-profile event titled "Fatal Fury: Times Square," taking place in New York City.
This bout marks Garcia's comeback following a one-year suspension due to a failed drug test after his April 2024 fight against Devin Haney, which was subsequently ruled a no contest.
Here is everything you need to know ahead of Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero.

What has been said?
“I’m happy this fight is finally happening because we get to find out what would happen in a real fight,” Garcia would say.
Both Garcia and Romero would go back and forth for a while before getting into an argument about who’s looked worse in their recent outings.
“I looked like sh-t but you got knocked out looking for Easter eggs with Isaac Cruz,” Garcia exclaimed. “You didn’t even know where you were at after the fight, he beat you that bad.”
A short while later the segment would hit its crescendo when Garcia questioned Romero’s resume — something Romero would get a little defensive about.
“I fought f-ckin’ punchers, bro” Romero said about his past opponents. “I fought a bunch of punchers.”
“Who?” Garcia asked.
“Barroso is a f-ckin crazy puncher,” Romero responded.
“Who?! The one that was on his way to beat you? The old man? The grandpa?!” Garcia questioned.
“So what, he was a f-ckin hard fight,” Romero said.
“Everybody knows it was a f-cked up [stoppage]. Everybody knows that. You were losing to him, you got dropped, but maybe he does hit hard,” Garcia replied.
“He f-ckin’ punches hard as sh-t,” Romero would say, prompting Garcia to bust out laughing.
