It marks the former's first bout since a decision victory last June over Steve Claggett, and the latter's first fight since a split victory over Jack Catterall in February this year.

I'm always going to come respectful, but he crossed that boundary, and we got to lay it right there," said Teofimo when asked about him slapping Barboza Jr. during their recent press conference.
"Nevertheless, on Friday, May 2nd, we're going to handle business. Champion? I'm the champion, rightfully so. He's not the champion. He's had to work his way, but he still ain't there yet. So my whole thing is I'm going to ge out there and do what I have to do - have fun and beat the brakes off this boy," said Teofimo.
