Fight Stats

What has been Said so far?

Canelo: “[Dmitry’s] a really good boxer. He’s a solid champion at 175. It’s a dangerous fight. I like it, I love that kind of challenge. I really like it. But, I believe in my abilities, and I’m strong too. So, I’m confident in that, but it’s gonna be a really good fight.”

Dmitrii: “Canelo can spar against aliens and that doesn’t change anything. I’ve also done it with cruiserweights or heavyweights as well. The truth is, it doesn’t matter in the least, because in the end it’s just sparring.....I will try to win and I trust all my skills to make it a great fight for everyone out there.”

What are experts saying?

"Jaguar" Aguirre, former minimumweight world champion

"Canelo takes a very difficult fight, his opponent is very good. Bivol carries a combination of very strong genes. The opponent is very good, very strong, I hope Canelo wins, but it is very difficult.

Canelo has to move a lot and counterpunch, which are his best weapons. Moving up in weight is very difficult, he wants to make stories, he has been managed very well. I'm not confident, we have to see him”

Prediction: "Canelo by decision"

GEORGE KAMBOSOS JR, Lightweight world champion

“I think he will box very intelligently and tear Bivol apart round by round…I think Bivol has a solid jaw and so he will go the distance and test Canelo several times, but he won't have enough artillery to beat him.”

Prediction: "Canelo on Points"

BOB ARUM, Top Rank promoter

'I think Canelo is something special. Bivol is a good fighter, but I would side with Canelo in that fight.

'He is a warrior and he has a great trainer like Eddy Reynoso, so I think he has too much for Bivol, who is not a real puncher. [Bivol] is a competitive guy who has a few good wins.'

Prediction: "Canelo KO"
